I had very low expectations based on the trailers and pre-release scenes so I was completely surprised at how well the film was made. It stayed true to the characters portrayed for the most part, but didn't let the facts ruin a good story or scene. It was well-acted, beautifully shot and edited with great symbolism and foreshadowing. It honored the lives of those involved, had a decent score and soundtrack AND most importantly it clearly presented the Gospel. I have no complaints - I can't say I'd do anything differently. Of course they played up Templeton to build conflict (what's a good story without conflict?) but believe it or not his story is pretty factual as well. You just can't make this stuff up sometimes. The filmmakers still left his fate pretty open ended which I appreciate. Some events or dialogue happened earlier or later or not at all - but hey that's film. I give it an A-. Did you catch Scott Hamilton in the scene where Templeton was all in Billy's face?

Billy: The Early Years, was an excellent movie. It depicted the struggles that the young Billy Graham went through so well. The actors who were in the movie also did a wonderful job

I went to see Billy: The Early Years last night, and it was one of the best cinematic experiences I have ever had. Overall, I would have to compliment the acting, the message and the idea. I had never heard of Charles Templeton before this film, and was unaware of the details of the trials Billy Graham had to witness. I love that the movie sticks to certain facts and does not sugarcoat the trials Billy (and we all) had to go through. This movie is a must see for everyone, all ages and demographics. I highly recommend it - it is not just your average entertainment film used for humor or escapism, but a film that leaves you inspired, strong and much, much more.

I LOVED this movie! I don't really know what I was expecting and to be honest, I don't even know who Billy Graham is, but this movie was so touching. It's great for the family because of it's message. The movie is actually really funny, too. I laughed a lot. At the end of the movie, I didn't want to get up. In the theater there were about 13 people, and NO ONE moved, talked or got out of their seats until the last of the credits ended. I've never seen people stay like that. I just want to say this is a movie I will watch over again, and I will buy it, too.
